Solos@Home is a virtual dance competition hosted by the Delaware Dance Education Organization.
DDEO recognizes and supports the work and sacrifice of fellow Americans fighting against social injustices and dismantling systemic, racist institutions at work in the United States. To begin the process of righting past wrongs, DDEO hosted a series of webinars during the Summer 2020 entitled "Groundswell - Dance As A Force for Social Change".
We invite dancers young and mature to create and submit dance solos inspired by the fight for social justice in the U.S. The webinar series is available here. We encourage likely participants to view and use the information gained as additional inspiration for their final solos.
* Any style of dance.
* Solos must be 2 minutes in length.
* Dancers of all ages allowed. (All participants must sign a waiver in order to participate.)
All solos will be adjudicated by a panel of nationally recognized dancers, teachers and choreographers.
